FILM WORKSHOP

This film workshop offers participants an artistic space where personal expression, collaborative work and critical reflection are developed. In order to meet these objectives, the workshop will focus on documentary production using 16mm film & digital video. This mixed approach will foster a pace and rhythm that allows us to take the time for reflection, dedication and appreciation of key documentary filmmaking techniques. By the end of the sessions, we will collectively produce a documentary short film with 16mm footage shot by the participants about their experiences as workers.

COMIC DRAWING WORKSHOP
LED BY CRISTIAN CASTELO
On June 19, Cristian Castelo led a workshop for workers to explore personal character and storytelling through comics drawing. They created self-portraits and put their character into a four panel comic strip that expressed a personal wish from inception to completion. Some wishes were about workplace justice, while others used the opportunity to tell silly or deeply personal stories. By sharing their stories in this way, workers bonded and learned more about one another on a personal level.
